Some Small Accomplishments

Bluebirds have been looking for homes since the chickadees stole all the bluebird boxes, so decided to hang this at the farmhouse using a bluebird hanger that my mom had gotten for me so long ago and I had stored in the potting shed.

White Rose of Sharon are in bloom.
I've been working on the tedious painting of the kitchen sink cabinet.  It's slow going as it takes several coats, and there are a lot of edges.  Not my favorite way to paint, but it has to be done, and I'm almost finished.  Next I will oil the butcher block top.
Jake also is going to put an old board kick plate along the bottom, I guess when he comes back to do the back deck and porch.  When that will be is anyone's guess.  It's been two more weeks, and I'm still waiting for the electricians to come back and finish up.
                                  Sweet Williams in bloom.
This shelf in the kitchen was removed and the metal brackets holding it up.  I've been removing nails, patching holes with wood filler, sanding and washing walls to prep for painting.

     Ugly shelf gone!

Uncovered a sage green paint behind the water heater that was in this corner.  At one time, I bet that looked pretty in this kitchen.
This wild rose has been growing for quite sometime, but is right where the gate to the new parking spot will go, so it was removed.  We bought our gate this weekend, and tomorrow Mike our fencer will be here to put it in and fix some other fencing that the bear keeps crushing.

The built-in kitchen cabinet has been scraped, sanded and washed, and I have painted the left-side doors and should finish it up this week.
They were white, but now dingy, so the new bright white really makes a difference.
And thank you Judy, you always come through naming the plants I have no clue about! This is a Deutzia, and the description even said an old bush found at abandoned farmhouses! I found a baby for you!

Farmhouse White

This is one of the bedroom windows. I decided to paint them white, this room is so dark with this wood, even with the ceiling now vaulted and painted white.  Once the ceiling light is up, I'm hoping that makes a big difference.

Same window with a white outline.  I did that to all three windows thinking maybe I would leave the wood on the inside, would save me a lot of painting, but not quite sure yet.

I've been painting here and there, but can't do walls where light switches are or ceilings as the electricians put their hand marks on everything! Still waiting for their return to finish this up. Hopefully this coming week.
First of the white flowers are these gorgeous bushes that I found once the driveway was put in and opened up the area.  I need to find out what these are, Judy you probably know, but if not, I will head to the ag office.
I plan to cut them all back in the fall, they are very leggy from having been bushed in.

          Magnolias are blooming

Obedient plants are beginning to bloom
The white hydrangeas are fabulous this year

    Lacecaps on my woodland trail

Foxgloves coming to an end in the front yard

Gardenias in bloom with their heavenly scent

     And I never thought I'd say I have too many daisies . . .
  . . . but I do!
