CEILINGS ARE PAINTED!

Living Room:  Three coats of oil based Kilz and the fumes are toxic!  Airing the place out for a few days and Jake will be back to put up the PVC shiplap in the shower.

Everyone who has seen the vaulted ceilings have agreed, they look fantastic and the place feels so much larger and brighter.  You would never know that this place is only 560 sq. ft.

Jake tried to talk me out of white on the old wood, but white was the only way to go, and now he agrees.

There's a lot of pink at the farmhouse garden.  The hollyhocks are blooming this year, and even though I planted a variety of colors, the ones in bloom are all pink.

The hydrangeas I planted this spring from cuttings of the bushes at the main house, even though blue at the main house, are also coming out pink because of the soil.

The Bedroom:  In this room the white ceiling was crucial as the walls are going to stay the stained dark wood.  I took the paint down the two ends to brighten it up even more, and what a difference! I will be painting the windows white to brighten it up even more, but I needed to have the original stained wood boards in one of the rooms to keep a bit of the past.

Jake did a great job on these boards notching them out for the beams as there was a space left after removing the ceiling.

On the driveway to the farmhouse I've been nursing these pink fairy roses back to health for many years, this year it's paying off!

The new Jacob's Coat rose just planted next to the Eden on a porch post at the farmhouse.
The Eden rose. Next post should be the bathroom with the new shiplap walls!
